DQS 11 - testing!

I decided to try a test block for my DQS quilt. I had planned to do a block called Air Castle but that is HSTs and because the block is so small I was worried that the print would be broken up and look dodgy. This block is called Night Vision and uses flying geese instead.
I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out because you need to sew partial seems (quite new to me) to get it made up. I only had to rip out 1 little seem while making this :)
This is no longer a test block. It is officially block 1 - Yay!

This is a little sketch of my idea for the quilt

If I haven't replied to any comments on my last post I'm sorry. I went to visit my Mum for a few days, armed with just my iphone, and after a few hours browsing online I realised I'd brought the wrong charger and the phone was caput for the rest of the time I was there. Now I'm not sure who I've replied to and who I haven't!

Edited! Just remembered I've finally managed to finish my Block-a-Palooza quilt top. This is destined for my youngest son's bed - when I eventually get it quilted :)

  1. The test block is perfect, and so is your son's quilt top. You really do make gorgeous things, Fiona!

  2. Oh fiona I'l really loving your DQS 11 plan! The first block you've done is brilliant :-)

  3. Love your test block for DQS#11 Fiona!!!

  4. That test block is fab. If it's not destined for the quilt what a great mug rug it would make?

  5. Love your little DQS block, it is lovely. Those elephants are brilliant :-)
Your quilt top looks great :-) really like the colours, I'm sure your son will love it :-)

  6. Wow! That block is really stunning. I can't wait to see the whole thing, it looks amazing!

  7. Fab dqs design - really love the elephant print. It's gonna look amazing. As does your son's quilt top! Beautiful!

  8. Great block and looking forward to more! It will be brilliant!

Your son is lucky or will be when it's quilted.

  9. I think my fingers are too big for the DQS!!
This is going to look stunning!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I love reading comments and I try hard to reply to them all, but I'm a busy Mum and sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day. Please don't be offended if I don't reply :)
