Whirlpool - Brit Quilt Swap

I've made some progress on my Brit Quilt Swap and got my Whirlpool pieced.
I had planned to make it a recangular/square quilt and was planning to use the aqua Joel Dewbeery print in the background because I thought it looked a tropical water pool, but now I'm thinking it might be better circular?
I think I'm still leaning towards rectangular/square but need some help deciding....
What do you think?

  1. I love this! The colors, values, and movement are great. I think putting it on a square background will emphasize the whirlpool effect. You have good instincts!

  5. It will be better with a background and you are right to make it a light one but I do not think the shape is as important as the value!

  12. I love it!! In the end, a rectangle is easier to hang, but a circle would be very cool.
