So I'm hooked on the Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt QAL that is going on in flickrland just now.
The quilt along is supposed to slow paced, doing just 2 blocks a week. But........ I can't stop myself!
I love the little blocks. They are like little snack-size treats at just 6" finished size.
I'm really learning a lot already, some of these blocks are much more advanced than anything I've tried before. And because they are so small I'm having to be really acurate.
I'm really enjoying seeing the blocks that everyone else is making. There are some Gorgeous ones in the group!
I really like the book. I've found the letters really uplifting and inspiring. My kids and I spent Sunday afternoon weeding the garden after reading about 'God's earth' and being 'so close to the beauty of nature' etc, and we had a lovely afternoon!
So if you haven't already, I really think you should buy the book and jump into this QAL. It's so much fun!
Another WIPs. . . hmm I think I'll just live vicariously through my gal pals! Great looking blocks woman!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the block in the middle of the bottom row. It just jumps out at you.
ReplyDeleteWow these looking amazing! This would make a really lovely quilt in itself! Looking forward to seeing more! Jxo
ReplyDeleteWait for me - I won't be starting until July (but that's a secret!).
ReplyDeleteThey're looking good! I said it was addictive! And isn't it a great way to use up treasured scraps!
ReplyDeleteLoving seeing everyones blocks come together!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm particularly loving seeing all that Dolce! I've had a bundle since christmas and I've not been able to picture it in any specific design, so its wonderful to see it in so many and looking so great! Thanks Fiona! x
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting on my book! I'll be joining you in the fun hopefully next week! Your blocks are fab! Love them!
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona, Thanks for the comment on my blog about the pillowcase dresses. I have just emailed you! I'm now following your lovely blog too!! Louise x
ReplyDeleteI love these blocks! The solids you have chosen work so well. I am just starting the FW blocks and I agree, they are very fun.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look lovely! I think I'm going to be on more than 2 blocks a week most of the time too, but since I'm already getting ambitions of making a kingsize quilt, that's probably no bad thing!
ReplyDeleteFun blocks, great fabric will make a great quilt when finished.....
