Another fantastic swap!

I just received another amazing swap package! This is the stunning pillow I received in the Pillow Talk Swap. It was made for me by Marika {Live, Laugh, Love... Sew} and I'm so excited that it's come to live with me!

When I saw it pop up in the group poll my first thought was "Oh No! That's pretty similar to the one I'm making for my partner, but it's so much nicer!"

Haha! The lovely Marika did a fantastic job of stalking me and making the most beautiful pillow that just fits perfectly into my bedroom! I'm feeling very very lucky at the moment :)

Thankyou so Marika!!!

I haven't replied to all the lovely comments on my last post yet, I'm still catching up with myself. I've got a poorly boy off school today, and a puppy who is still stiff and sore after getting hit by a car at the start of the week. But I had to hop onto the computer to show off my beautiful new pillow! Now I better get back to my nursing duties!

Have a great weekend!

Pillow Talk and a walk

I've finished my pillow for the Pillow Talk Swap. I was really excited when I found out my partner and I pulled out my extra special bag of little scraps to make a happy scrappy pillow that I hope she'll love. I really enjoyed making this and I a wee bit sad it's finished. It'll be on it's way to it's new home soon :)

The centre part is a New York Beauty block that I made using this great tutorial, and I hand quilted it using perle cotton.

On Sunday morning I enjoyed a lovely a walk in the woods with my daughter and Murphy before we went to watch her brother play rugby. I love this photo I took. It just sums up an autumnal Sunday morning :)

Happy Wednesday

Swapping!

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I'd fallen off the swap wagon. I'm glad a had a little break and now I've tumbled back into swapping I'm having a grand old time!

First up is the Mouthy Stitches Swap. My Mama has assigned me a brilliant partner. I've done a bit of stalking, had a good rummage in my stash and come up with this.

A little braided panel for the front of the tote bag. I've had some lovely feedback from the others in the group and I'll be quilting it soon and making up the bag :)

Next up I just couldn't help myself signing up to the Pillow Talk Swap again, and I'm so glad I did. Again my Mama has given me a fantastic partner, and I dived into my extra special bag of teeny tiny scraps, pulled on my big girl pants, and started on this

A New York Beauty block, using the brilliant tutorial by Megan at Canoe Ridge Creations. I've spent a lot of today piecing and now it looks like this

I've got a bit more to add and then I'm planning a bit of hand quilting using perle cotton.

Somehow these swaps have made me abandon everything and they're all I can think about! I'm going to tear myself away for a couple of hours and try to get the house presentable, and make some dinner before anybody realises I've spent every spare minute of the last couple of days sewing and ignoring everything else!

Happy Wednesday!

Swapity Swap

So yesterday I was giving.... today is all about receiving!

I love swapping on Flickr. They are some fantastic groups full of fun, creative and very generous people.

Pillow Talk Swap - received!

Last week I received this gorgeous Pillow/cushion from Amanda in the Pillow Talk Swap. Isn't it just gorgeous! And she sent me about a ton of scraps that I can't wait to get playing with :) Thankyou so much Amanda!
Below is the pillow/cushion that I made for my partner, and it is now living at it's new home :)

Pillow Talk { Swap } - finished

Yesterday I received another exciting parcel in the mail. I started jumping up and down before I even opened it because I knew the name on the envelope.

The fantastic Michelle, swap Mama in the Pretty Little Pouch Swap, sent me this amazing package. The most fabulous pouch and a lovely stack of fabric :) I am in Love! Thankyou so much Michelle! I am also in love with a beautiful quilt and Pillow that Michelle has made, and have hatched a cunning plan to make one for myself ;)

Below is the pouch that I made for my partner, which is also in it's new home :)

Little Things

I've been sewing little things the last few days. Sometimes I love sweet little projects that only take an hour or two, instead of quilts which can take me months.

Meet Bella

Meet Bella, the pin cushion. I think I might be in love with her! I made her using a Heather Bailey pattern called Effie and Ollie that I've had my eye on for ages. As much as I want to keep her, I did make her with someone in particular in mind, and I'm intrigued to see if this particular person will love her too :)

Pillow Talk { Swap } - finished

I also finished off the cushion I've made my partner in the Pillow Talk Swap on Flickr. I kind of want to keep this too, and I'm hoping that my secret partner will like it.

Another Fortune Cookie frame purse

I made another little Fortune Cookie purse to pop in as an extra little surprise for my partner, I really like these little purses (Frame and Pattern from U Handbag) and I love that  fabric (Make Life by Sweetwater)

So now it's almost the weekend, wonder if I'll find time to make something for myself? :)

Have a great weekend

Little Clutches

Key Chain Clutches

I've been making little gifts the last couple of days. Sometimes it's really nice to sew up something quick and easy, especially after lots of quilting, and I've been really enjoying making these little Key Chain Clutches, using a sweet little pattern by Keyka Lou.

The pink one is for my secret Partner #2 in the Goodie Swap, and the yellow one is a surprise for a friend. I'm really enjoying the Goodie Swap, there's a great bunch of ladies all having a laugh in the discussions. Mind you some ladies are quieter than others (Hint, hint Partner #1, speak up and play along! It's much more fun when you participate!)

I'm also playing in the {Pillow} Talk Swap on Flickr at the moment. This is one of my favourite swaps on Flickr :) It was the very first swap I ever did (talk about jumping in at the deep end - you should see some of the talent in there!)

Here are the pillows I made (left) and received (right) in my first round

My creation

And here are the ones I made (left) and received (right) in my second round

My creation

I'm itching to get sewing for this round :) I'm really enjoying my partner. He/she is pretty cool :)
Here is what I have come up with so far

Maybe?

Happy Wednesday!
