Jammies!

Thanks for all the lovely comments yesterday. I really enjoyed my day of happy random sewing :)

I'm a bit more focused today and have popped in to show you the Jammies I made this morning :)

Unpicking my old PJs worked a treat, and I was able to make a couple of changes that made them even better for me. I'm pretty tall at 5' 10" and shop-bought PJ bottoms are just never long enough, so I added about 4" to the length and made the bottom of the legs slightly wider.

I even remembered to put a little tag in to show me which is the back :)

I'm planning to wear these until I have to leave the house to pick the kids up from school, and I think I might just make myself another pair. They were pretty quick to make. I think I might clean that mirror first though ;)

Just in case anyone is interested the fabric is by Heather Ross and is from her Crafty Chloe range.

Happy Friday!

  4. I bought that same fabric with jammie pants in mind and yours turned out perfect. It has been YEARS since I made clothes but really want to jump back in.

  17. I love your jammie bottoms and want some!! It would be lovely to have more than one pair that came to my ankles (M&S did some separates last year ('lounge wear', I believe) that came in a long leg - should have got two pairs!) so I may have to copy you...

  18. Oh I do like the idea of this. Like you I'm tall and they never are long enough. My hubby bought me a pair at Christmas which are long enough and probably my favourite gift ever. You can't beat a pair of jammies that fit. Well done

  19. Custom jammies are the best! I have to make mine shorter...
So smart to remember a tag! Hubby asked me recently why I always peer into my jammie bottoms before I put them on, and I had to explain to him about looking for the tag to see which way they go on. Since all his have flies in the front, he never has to think about front and back. Maybe I should add bigger tags to mine, so I don't have to make such a show of looking for them.
