Basting Lynne's QAL

Basting Lynne's QAL by fionapoppy
I've been working Lynne's dresden QAL and my backing fabric finally arrived, so yesterday I spent some time on my hands and kness pinning. I'm not doing the quilt-as-you-go method that Lynne used. I decided to sew all my blocks together and hand quilt them.
I'm not sure what sane person would decide to start pin-basting a quilt on their living room floor 45 minutes before they need to leave to do the school-run, but that's what I did..... I did manage to get the basting finished (and managed to get to school in time) but my fingers are still hurting!

We were supposed to be heading off for a family camping trip to the lake district today, but due to unexpected vet bills our trip is cancelled :( Actually I think it might be a blessing in disguise. I'm thinking that 5 of us huddling in a soggy tent, with wind howling and rain lashing might have been torture - there's only so much Jenga and Connect 4 you can play.........
This is Ava one of the contributors to the vet bills, thankfully she's better, and still looking this cute :)

Happy Thursday....

  2. Those dresdens look fabulous. I like the framing of them too. I am very bad I only intended making one dresden. I cut it out and still haven't found time to sew it together.

  3. They look amazing Fi! I still dont know what to do with mine... How much backing did you need to quilt them all together like that? I kind of fancy doing it that way too. What quilt is Ava sitting on? That looks lovely :-)
