Hopscotch in Ruby

I'm really sorry if you're all sick of the sight of my Hopscotch quilt, but I have to show it off because it's now finished and just off the washing line.

I love it! I have never made a quilt that makes my heart flutter, but this one does! I wasn't sure if I loved the Ruby line when I first saw it, but I got a jelly roll on sale and decided to give it a go in Katy's Swooning on a Hop Along QAL.

I'm so glad I did. I just love it. I loved making it, and I'm going to find it very hard to give this one away because it's sadly not for me. It's a gift for someone special. I'm going to keep it for a few weeks though and just enjoy looking at it :)

For those interested the pattern is Hopscotch by Camille Roskelley
I used a Ruby Jelly Roll, also by Camille for Moda
I used an Ivory quilting cotton, and Kona Ruby for the centre triangles and diamonds and the binding is Kona Ruby
Backing is a print from Camille's older line Bliss.

Okay, No more pictures of this quilt. Promise!
But I am going to make a version for myself :)

Obsessed?

I seem to have developed a bit of an obsession with Camille Roskelly's quilt patterns. First it was Swoon, which I wanted to make for ages before Katy started her QAL and got me started on it. I spent yesterday basting my Swoon and hand quilting has now commenced :)

Then Katy kept the fun going and announced that Camille's Hopscotch and On a Whim patterns were next up in the QAL. Cue Fiona obsessively making triangles and being unable to stop. Those triangles were so addictive! My Hopscotch quilt top is now finished and I LOVE it! I need to decide how to quilt it. I'm thinking about being brave and trying some fancy FMQ but we'll see.

Then Camille put all her pdf patterns on sale for $5 and I couldn't resist buying one or two (okay 3 of them!)
This is her Jelly Filled pattern, I can't decide whether to add borders or leave it as it is. This was a really quick and easy pattern, and I'll be making more of these :)

You'd think I had enough quilts tops on the go wouldn't you? But I'm itching to start on another of Camille's patterns. I'm planning Wild Thing using either a couple of Whimsy charm packs, or Reunion charm packs. I'm trying to be strong and wait until I've finished at least one quilt but my cutting mat is calling me! I think I have a sickness!!!!

Swooning and Hopping and a winner!

Last week the productivity continued and I managed to get my Swoon quilt top finished. I'm quite excited about this one because it is for my bed, and my husband actually likes it! I'm not sure yet how I'm going to quilt it. It's pretty big at over 80" square, but I'm thinking about handquilting.

I've been desperate to start making a hopscotch quilt and keep going with Katy's QAL, and I made myself finish my Swoon first.

Then I got cutting :)

and obsessively piecing over the weekend. Those triangles are really really addictive! This morning I got them all pressed (I just finger-pressed them as I went along) and sewn into rows. Now they look like this....

I'm hoping to get the rows sewn together tomorrow morning. Then I need to do some serious basting :)

Thanks for all the puppy name suggestions. I used Mr Random Number to pick a winner for the Curio charm pack, but the prtscn button on my keyboard is not working, so I can't show you.

aww he's very cute! Name wise I'd go for Murphy, I think it'd really suit a springer. My inlaws had a dog name Steven, imagine walking about shouting Steven, Steven!
