In the name of the Wee Man!

"In the name of the Wee Man!" is my Granny's favourite saying when she can't believe her eyes/ears. It makes me smile every time I hear someone say it :)

It's what my Granny would say when she opened her curtains this morning

Kids on the way to school this morning. Brrrrrrr!

Murphy and his BFF of the way home from school this morning :)

My completed Granny Square Quilt in the garden this morning!

Yes I've finished it :)

And I'm really really pleased with it

I finished the binding last night, so I couldn't resist a wee photo shoot

Isn't it pretty?

Quilt details:
Inspired by the amazing Jolene's Granny Quilt
Blocks are make with my scraps and the background is an ivory solid I bought from here
Backing is a print called Tea Cakes by Verna Mosquera
Binding is It's a Hoot by Momo
Quilted in straight(ish) lines approx 1" apart on my sewing machine
Quilt measures approx 40" x 50"

I'm going to get this listed in my Etsy shop and I'm seriously considering making another one because I really loved making it :)

Happy Monday!

  1. Ha ha I have never heard "in the name of the Wee Man" before! My husband complained to me yesterday that my eldest daughter grumbled at him with the parting shot: "For pity's SAKE Daddy!". I had to admit that was something I might say quite a lot. But it is better than some of the things I feel like saying sometimes! Love your granny squares x

  4. Do not envy you the snow. Well I do, but only if I can stay home and do not have to go slip sliding down the single tracks in the car. The granny square is gorgeous! Love your colours and I think you should make one for yourself too!

  6. Love the granny squares! On my wish list. And love the snow! I've never seen it. We do have it in Australia, but only in the high mountains down the east coast of the country. Must visit Scotland some day to see the land of my ancestors, from whom I've inherited the fair skin, freckles and reddish tinge in my hair!

  10. Gorgeous quilt and snow! It's freezing here but we haven't got snow...yet! I used to work with a teacher (from Ireland) who would exclaim 'Jesus, Mary and Joseph!' at the drop of a hat!

  13. Oh your granny quilt is lovely! Snow- fun! It is so cold in the southern corner of Australia that it is supposed to snow in our Australian mountain areas today!!! Yes it's summer and less than a week ago it was 39 degrees!!! Ugh!
