We had a really nice relaxing time. There was torrential rain, sun, wind and lots of fun. We took the kids bikes, Connect 4 game, and several books and DVDs. The children's highlight was playing Crazy Golf with Dad :)
I took some sewing with me and was able to sit and stitch whilst enjoying this lovely view from the sofa (and a wee glass of wine or 2).
My hexagons are coming along nicely :)
And I'm still working on handquilting my Heather Ross Dresden quilt the I made during Lynne's QAL
I asked my 4 year old if he enjoyed his holiday - he gave me the thumbs up, but forgot the thumb! :)
I always love getting back home again, but it's all a bit frantic now. Our schools start back on Wednesday! I've just hung out the 6th load of washing from the holiday and I have a bazillion labels to attach to various items of school uniform!
Hope you have a good week!

Sounds like a wonderful time! My little guy is 4 too. I adore that picture of his "thumbs up". They are so precious!
ReplyDeleteLovely work -- both the hand quilting of your big dresdens AND the wonderful hexies. Your blog is just gorgeous...I can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - it looks like you all had a lovely time. Would love to island hop up that way - have never been as far north as Scotland :-(
ReplyDeleteAm envious my other half once got to live in the Outer Hebrides for a while!
Your hexies look fantastic! What a great holiday you had :)
ReplyDeleteArran looks beautiful! Laundry is never fun to have to catch up on, but I'm sure the trip was worth it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a brilliant holiday. Don't ever let your kids play mini golf with Emily. She plays ahead and then claims to have got a hole in one repeatedly and gets really stubborn if you question her. I could sit and sew with a view like you have there. Lovely. I could also have the glass of wine or two!
ReplyDeleteLook at all your hexies!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me about labels!
Omg, I forgot schools go back earlier north of the border! Lovely hexies
ReplyDeleteYour view and your hexagons are amazing!! Glad everyone enjoyed the vacation. We don't start (here in northeastern US) til Aug. 29th! And no vaca plans-- but we're doing some fun stuff. Not a lot of quilting-- but there will be time for that once school starts.
ReplyDeleteGreat stack of hexies there! Glad you had a good holiday :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the hexes, and looks like a lovely holiday. My dad used to live on Bute, it's such a beautiful part of the world.
